Relationship building and cultivating connections energizes me. My 15+ years’ experience in counseling, college student advising, recruiting, human resources, and talent development brings unique value and delivers results for individuals, groups and teams.
My clients and colleagues describe me as friendly, creative, fun, strategic, and easy to connect with.
Before returning to Nebraska, I worked for Arizona State University, Purdue and several companies in the Southwest. A Cornhusker and relationship-building-junkie for life, I completed my master’s and undergraduate work in Lincoln in the field of psychology and counseling.
Outside of the office, I enjoy pizza, craft beer, hiking, yoga, dancing, and Bonnie, my very blue 1951 Buick Special.

CRAFT COUNSELING APPROACH AND PROCESS
Navigating life and everything that comes your way can be really hard. I recently heard someone say, “Our world is kind of a dumpster fire.” In some regards, they aren’t wrong.
Even when you are trying your best it can feel real tough. That’s when someone listening, validating or helping support and encourage you can be helpful and powerful. It’s my goal to provide a safe space and vibe for you to share your story, do some unpacking, take what you want, leave the shit behind and hopefully pick up some tools or insights to help you move through “it” and thrive.
We’ll work together to connect, build trust and be vulnerable. Yup, it can be scary. Yup, I’m here for you. “Shame (and other intense experiences and feelings) die when stories are told in safe places.” (Ann Voskamp).
I take a raw and real approach to getting to know one another. Clients often tell me that they dig my genuine and gritty nature. I call it being authentic. I hope, with you, our experience together is just that, which allows for really good, lasting work and outcomes.
COUNSELING FOCUS
I support and help people of all ages and backgrounds. I have significant experience in relationship and workplace-related conflicts, burnout, and transitional and adjustment issues. I have deep knowledge of and comfortability working with college students and folx affected by Body-Focused Repetitive Disorders (chronic hair pulling, skin picking, nail-biting, and other BFRBs).
Because of extensive work in higher education and talent acquisition within business settings, I offer robust career counseling and coaching.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does counseling cost?
Can insurance cover the cost of counseling? If not, how else can I access services?
I am an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicaid. If you choose to use your insurance benefits, a claim will be submitted directly to your insurance company. Plans and coverage levels vary, so please confirm your plan coverage through your insurance company by calling the number or visiting the website on the back of your card.
If I am out-of-network provider for your insurance company, you will be given a “super bill.” This will include information your insurance company needs for potential reimbursement. If your insurance company provides reimbursement it will come to you, for you to apply towards your out-of-network expenses. Coverage is not guaranteed.
All insurance companies and policies differ. You are always encouraged to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your out-of-network benefits.
Many times, individuals choose not to utilize insurance benefits. These clients are considered self or private pay. This means that you will pay the full amount of services at the time of service. A sliding scale or discounted rate may be available to you.
I never want financial concerns to be a barrier to treatment, thus payment plans and sliding scales are also available.
I accept all major forms of payment including cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and HSA plans.
How long is a “typical” counseling session?
How long will I need counseling to see results or feel better?
Is counseling confidential?
• An immediate threat of harm to yourself or others
• Suspicions/allegations of child/elder abuse or neglect
• Receiving a subpoena from the courts
When working with minors, confidentiality remains key. Parents/guardians can be provided general updates as requested regarding the overall treatment focus and can be included in sessions if decided upon by the minor and counselor.
