TIFFANY MOUSEL

MA, PLMHP, Graduate of TLC’s Professonal Training Institute

Relationship building and cultivating connections energizes me. My 10+ years’ experience in college student advising, recruiting, human resources, talent development and counseling brings unique value and delivers results for individuals, groups and teams.

My clients and colleagues describe me as friendly, creative, fun, strategic and easy to connect with.

Before returning to Nebraska, I worked for Arizona State University, Purdue and several companies in the Southwest. A Cornhusker and relationship-building-junkie for life, I completed my master’s and undergraduate work in Lincoln in the field of psychology and counseling. I am currently provisionally licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner and office with three amazingly kind and talented female counselors.

Outside of the office, I enjoy pizza, craft beer, hiking and Bonnie, my very blue 1951 Buick Special.

MEET FRANKIE MAE

Frankie is a trained therapy pup who works specifically with young children and adolescents. When she’s not actively involved in the counseling process, she’s available for cuddles and comfort within Tiffany’s office.

CRAFT COUNSELING APPROACH AND PROCESS

Navigating life and everything that comes your way can be really hard. I recently heard someone call 2020 a dumpster fire. In some regards, they aren’t wrong.

Even when you are trying your best it can feel real tough. That’s when someone listening, validating or helping support and encourage you can be helpful and powerful. It’s my goal to provide a safe space and vibe for you to share your story, do some unpacking, take what you want, leave the shit behind and hopefully pick up some tools or insights to help you move through “it” and thrive.

We’ll work together to connect, build trust and be vulnerable. Yup, it can be scary. Yup, I’m here for you. “Shame (and other intense experiences and feelings) die when stories are told in safe places.” (Ann Voskamp).

I take a raw and real approach to getting to know one another. Clients often tell me that they dig my genuine and gritty nature. I call it being authentic. I hope, with you, our experience together is just that, which allows for really good, lasting work and outcomes.

COUNSELING FOCUS

I support and help people of all ages and backgrounds. I have significant experience in relationship and workplace-related conflicts, pre- and postpartum depression as well as anxiety, transitional and adjustment issues specific to college students. I have recently started working with those affected by Body-Focused Repetitive Disorders (chronic hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting and other BFRBs).

Because of extensive work in higher education and talent acquisition within business settings I offer robust career counseling and coaching, including job search support, resume reviews, job/grant interview preparation and college application guidance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does counseling cost?
Counseling is often covered through your insurance plan. That said, out-of-pocket cost for everyone may vary. Please verify your plan coverage through your insurance company by calling the number or visiting the website on the back of your card. Also see the FAQ on insurance coverage.
Can insurance cover the cost of counseling? If not, how else can I access services?

I am an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicaid. If you choose to use your insurance benefits, a claim will be submitted directly to your insurance company. Plans and coverage levels vary, so please confirm your plan coverage through your insurance company by calling the number or visiting the website on the back of your card.

If I am out-of-network provider for your insurance company, you will be given a “super bill.” This will include information your insurance company needs for potential reimbursement. If your insurance company provides reimbursement it will come to you, for you to apply towards your out-of-network expenses. Coverage is not guaranteed.

All insurance companies and policies differ. You are always encouraged to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your out-of-network benefits.

Many times, individuals choose not to utilize insurance benefits. These clients are considered self or private pay. This means that you will pay the full amount of services at the time of service. A sliding scale or discounted rate may be available to you.

I never want financial concerns to be a barrier to treatment, thus payment plans and sliding scales are also available.

I accept all major forms of payment including cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and HSA plans.

How long is a “typical” counseling session?
Sessions range from 45-60 minutes. Your first session will include a conversation about frequency and timing of sessions.
How long will I need counseling to see results or feel better?
Counseling duration and outcomes are extremely variable. That said, this is something you will discuss and decide with me. Some individuals benefit from a single session and like to “keep things open” so they can come back when they want. Others like to be seen on a regular basis to work on and maintain their mental health.
Is counseling confidential?
What you discuss in therapy is completely confidential, with these exceptions:

• An immediate threat of harm to yourself or others

• Suspicions/allegations of child/elder abuse or neglect

• Receiving a subpoena from the courts

When working with minors, confidentiality remains key. Parents/guardians can be provided general updates as requested regarding the overall treatment focus and can be included in sessions if decided upon by the minor and counselor.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by calling or texting (765) 490-0929, emailing tmousel@craftcounselingco.com or requesting an appointment HERE.

Is there paperwork I need to complete ahead of time?
Yes. Starting counseling includes a little bit of paperwork which can be done online HERE or when you come to your first appointment. Please note, it takes 5-10 minutes for most people.
Do I need meds to feel better?
Some people find that the right meds (which can be tricky to establish) and counseling to be super effective. It is not a one size fits all, though. Counselors cannot prescribe medication. That said, I can walk you through different types of medications and provide community resources and/or folks in the medical community that can help you further navigate these options. Remember, having the conversation about medication never means you must take them.
